An Owens Valley industrial ghost community on the east shore corridor of Owens Lake, born as a Carson & Colorado Railroad siding and expanded after 1885 when the Inyo Marble Company opened quarries in the largest dolomite marble deposit in the United States. Roadside remnants, railroad grade, and quarry scars still mark the company-town landscape between Keeler and the Swansea area—an industrial twin to the better-known lakeshore ghost towns.
