East trailhead for the cairned ancestral footpath linking Acoma and Zuni pueblos across El Malpais National Monument lava—about 7.5 miles one-way to the NM-53 trailhead. NPS interprets the route as a living cultural trail still used by Pueblo people; hikers follow rock cairns over jagged basalt with no continuous tread. Pin is the Highway 117 parking area (Acoma–Zuni end).
