Railroad and ranching settlement on the Price River and U.S. 6/191 in eastern Emery County, established in 1881 as Lower Crossing for Denver & Rio Grande Western water and stock shipping. After rail consolidation and 1930s droughts the boom faded; a cold carbon-dioxide-driven geyser and roadside station later drew mid-century travelers. Scant ruins and a fenced station remain along a lonely desert highway between Wellington and Green River.
