Morenci Mine Overlook

Public highway overlook on US 191 above Freeport-McMoRan’s Morenci operation—one of North America’s largest open-pit copper mines and the modern successor to the Clifton–Morenci mining district that began in the 1870s. Interpretive displays and oversized haul-truck components convey industrial mining history at a safe visitor pullout.
