Shallow twin to Upper Lake Mary along the Lake Mary Recreation Corridor—often lower or partly dry, which concentrates waterfowl, shorebirds, wintering bald eagles, and elk along the shoreline meadows. Arizona Watchable Wildlife and Coconino NF day-use pullouts make it a Flagstaff high-country birding and wildlife stop rather than a power-boat lake.
