Eastern New Mexico railroad hamlet on the former Belen Cutoff / Transcontinental corridor east of Fort Sumner. La Lande grew as a section and stock-shipping stop in De Baca’s ranch country and later shrank as highway traffic and rail operations changed; remaining settlement fabric and right-of-way traces are visible from public highway approaches in the Pecos valley plains.
