Silver–lead–zinc mining camp in the Magdalena Mountains south of Magdalena. After 1870s discoveries the district boomed; mill foundations, stone walls, and the prominent graphic-smelter stack remain along the public Kelly Road approach. Townsite is a classic New Mexico mining-district ghost with interpretive interest for industrial archaeology.
