Ghost Town

Hebron

Washington County, UT

Coordinate unverified

Pioneer ranching town on Shoal Creek in western Washington County (1862–1902), first called Shoal Creek then platted as Hebron. It supplied mining camps including Pioche and Silver Reef until water shortages, competition from Enterprise, and a 1902 Pine Valley earthquake wrecked most rock homes. Residents sold water rights and salvaged materials, leaving rubble and a small cemetery west of modern Enterprise.
