Zinc- and copper-mining town in the Hanover–Fierro district north of Bayard, boom-era enough for a theater, store, and pool hall before a 1920s fire and late-20th-century mine closures. Official New Mexico Ghost Town Trail stop: weathered houses and mill-era ruins still line the creek drainage in the pines, blending with sparse remaining residences along NM-356.
