High-alpine (≈8,300 ft) New Mexico State Park on a 2,400-acre reservoir in a glacial valley beneath the Wheeler Peak massif, outside the village of Eagle Nest. Summer fishing/boating and winter ice fishing, nordic skiing, and snowshoeing; strong wildlife viewing (elk, deer, waterfowl) in Moreno Valley.
