Upper Gila Valley farm-and-rail town near the New Mexico line whose surviving commercial and residential streetscape records Greenlee’s non-Morenci mining-and-ranching side. Founded in the 1870s (post office as Purdy by 1883), Duncan grew with the Southern Pacific era and still offers a walkable core of early buildings; the town visitor center distributes a self-guided historic-properties map.
