1880s San Pedro River silver-milling boomtown for Tombstone-area ore, centered on the Contention and Grand Central mills. Peak population was about two hundred with hotel, saloons, and rail depot before mine flooding emptied the place. Adobe foundations and cemetery remnants now lie inside BLM San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area—hike in from Fairbank or other NCA trailheads.
