Black Hills (Yavapai) gold-mining camp between Dewey and Camp Verde with a post office from 1884 to 1943 and peak population near four hundred around several district mines. Today it is a small retirement and vacation community with several original buildings and a historic cemetery. Mountain dirt roads provide access; respect private homes and avoid mine openings.
