Steel catwalks and bridges suspended above Whitewater Creek in a narrow canyon of the Gila National Forest near Glenwood. Originally built for an 1890s mining pipeline, the rebuilt National Recreation Trail is a short, dramatic family-friendly walk through spray and cliff walls—one of southwestern New Mexico’s signature canyon day hikes.
