National monument in Coolidge preserving a Classic Period Hohokam (ancestral Sonoran Desert people) compound and the four-story caliche “Great House” (Siwañ Waʼa Ki), built ~1300s CE and abandoned by ~1450. First prehistoric cultural reserve in the U.S. (1892); distinctive Olmsted-designed shelter covers the Great House. Compound walls, ballcourt traces, and CCC-era adobe admin buildings remain.
