Canyon Sin Nombre

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park wash-and-canyon route off County Route S2 famous among desert travelers as a compact “geologist’s tour”: layered mudstone and sandstone walls, narrow slots, and badland landforms carved into the western Carrizo–Fish Creek sedimentary package. Street-legal vehicles can drop from S2 into the sandy wash; hikers explore side slots and mud hills without the long 4x4 commitment of deeper Fish Creek routes.
