BLM/Organ Mountains–Desert Peaks trail access into Achenbach Canyon on the western Organ Mountains escarpment south of Las Cruces. Chihuahuan Desert canyon and foothill habitat used by desert bighorn, mule deer, javelina, and raptors; a quieter wildlife-and-hike corridor than the already-mapped Dripping Springs / Aguirre Spring front-country hubs farther north.
